Consolidated Construction did an excellent job with an exterior project on my home. The project included removal/replacement of trim, painting the trim including windows of the entire home, painting porch ceilings and installing new fans, as well as the removal/replacement of front and back porch flooring from wood to composite. Highly recommend!

Common questions and tips from our work with Columbia customers.
- Why does my roof leak only during heavy rain?
- Wind-driven rain can push water under shingles and past worn flashing, which a light shower will not do. Common spots include chimneys, vents, valleys and places where a roof meets a wall. The water may travel along framing before it shows, so the ceiling stain may not sit below the actual opening. Finding the entry point takes a close look at the roof and attic.
- What should I do after storm damage to my roof?
- Stay off the roof and check from the ground for missing shingles, lifted edges, fallen limbs and damaged gutters. Look inside for fresh stains or dripping water, and move belongings away from any leak. Take photos of what you can see safely, then call a contractor to inspect it. Quick repairs help keep water from reaching the decking, insulation and ceilings.
Tip
Check Your Attic After a Hard Rain
A flashlight trip to the attic can catch a roof problem before it reaches your ceiling. Look for damp insulation, dark stains on the decking and water trails along the rafters, especially around vents and chimneys. Daylight showing through the boards is another warning sign. Note where you find it, because that gives whoever repairs the roof a useful place to start.
