Consolidated Construction did an excellent job with an exterior project on my home. The project included removal/replacement of trim, painting the trim including windows of the entire home, painting porch ceilings and installing new fans, as well as the removal/replacement of front and back porch flooring from wood to composite. Highly recommend!

Common questions and tips from our work with Columbia customers.
- What should I do first after finding water damage?
- Stop the source if you can, such as shutting off a valve, and turn off power to any wet area if it is safe. Move belongings out, dry what you can and take photos. Then have the damage opened up and checked, since wet drywall, flooring and framing can hide more than the stain shows. Repairs should begin once everything has dried out.
- Can one contractor handle my whole repair list?
- Often that is the simplest way to do it, because many small repairs overlap. Removing a built-in can leave drywall to patch and walls to paint, and a tile repair may need work on the surface below. Grouping the list means one schedule and one point of contact. Send over everything on your list, even the small items, so the work can be planned in order.
Tip
Keep a Running List With Photos
Write down repairs as you notice them, and take a photo of each one, including where it sits in the house. Note when a problem shows up, like a stain that only appears after rain. That record makes an estimate visit far more useful and helps sort what is urgent from what can wait. It also keeps small jobs from being forgotten.
